Open Positions
The group for “Protein Dynamics” at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS), School of Life Sciences - LifeNet is inviting applications for
1 postdoctoral position
in the field of Bioinformatics/Quantitative Proteomics.
The project deals with the analysis of large-scale datasets of protein modification, interaction and turnover related to autophagy, a cellular degradation pathway. The dynamic data will be generated by quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics. In collaboration with theoretical/systems biology groups this projects aims at developing data repositories and computational models of regulatory, autophagy-relevant protein networks.
The researcher will be hosted by the Center for Biological Systems Analysis (ZBSA,
www.zbsa.uni-freiburg.de). The laboratories offer a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment with theoretical groups as well as state-of-the-art instrumentation and facilities for mass spectrometry-based proteomics integrated with cell biology and molecular biology.
For this research line, we seek a highly-motivated person with a scientific background in bioinformatics, biochemistry, and/or mass spectrometry-based proteomics with emphasis on the computational analysis of large-scale datasets and structural analyses. In addition, the ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in the generation of databases, data analysis using R-based evaluation tools, and principle component analyses.
The position is available from June 1st, 2011 on. Applications including a CV, a list of publications, as well as two letters of recommendation/names of referees should be sent by e-mail to Jörn Dengjel (
joern.dengjel@frias.uni-freiburg.de).
