How to find us:
From the train station with public transportation
From Freiburg main station by public transportation (about 10 min tram and bus ride):
From the platform go to the streetcar bridge and take any line in the direction of the city center. Exit at the second station ('Bertoldsbrunnen') and change to streetcar line 2 (direction of 'Siegesdenkmal') or simply walk to the next and final stop 'Siegesdenkmal'. Take the bus 28 (direction 'Hornusstraße') and get off at the stop 'Hauptstraße'. Walk about 100 m straight ahead, and ZBSA is the building with glass facade on the right hand side. (Note: due to the construction work currently going on at the Habsburgerstraße, this is a temporary solution)
From Freiburg main station by foot
about 25 min easy walk: As you leave the train station in direction to the city, cross the big street and take Eisenbahnstraße, which takes you straight into the city center. Keep going straight until you reach Kaiser-Joseph-Strasse, a big busy shopping street on which the streetcar runs. Here, turn left and follow the street until you reach an open plaza with a big monument on your left ('Siegesdenkmal'). Walk along the Habsburgerstraße straight ahead for about 1 km, and ZBSA is the building with glass facade on the right hand side.
From Autobahn A5 (Karlsruhe – Basel):
Leave the A5 at the junction no. 62 'Freiburg-Stadtmitte' (Freiburg center) direction Freiburg, Donaueschingen,Titisee-Neustadt, B31. Stay on the motorway for about 6 km until the exit 'Stadttheater – Universität', drive left in the direction 'Stadttheater – Universität' and stay on that street until Fahnenbergplatz (via Kronenstraße, Werderring and Rotteckring). At the traffic light at Fahnenbergplatz and facing the Berlitz School turn right onto the Friedrichring. You reach a plaza with a big war monument ('Siegesdenkmal'). Surround the monument and the plaza following the course of the street. After the plaza, the main street curves and continues to the left. Follow the Habsburgerstraße and drive about 1 km, and ZBSA is the building with glass facade on the right hand side.
From one of the airports in the region
- From Basel Airport by shuttle bus (~1 hour): Upon your arrival in Basel/Mulhouse airport proceed to the French sector where a regular bus shuttle operates to and from Freiburg (click here for the timetable and bus fares: Freiburger-Reisedienst , only in German!). The bus service will be waiting in front of the main entrance with the “Freiburger Reisedienst” logo on it. Once you arrive at the Freiburg main station you can use the public transportation (see above) or a taxi. Taxis can be found in front of the Intercity Hotel.
- From Frankfurt Airport by train (~ 2 hours):
Proceed to Terminal 1 and from there to the long-distance rail train station. ICE trains to Freiburg run hourly, starting from 6:44h. (click here for the timetable and train fares: Deutsche Bahn-International Guests).
- From Strasbourg Airport by bus, tram and train (~ 2 hours):
To get to the center of Strasbourg from the airport take the shuttle to tram stop Baggersee, where there is a connection to tram line A (Illkirch Lixenbuhl) to downtown, leaving every 20 minutes from arrivals terminal (click here for the shuttle timetable: Shuttle timetable). From Strasbourg Gare (main station) there is a train connection to Offenburg, Germany, where you switch to Freiburg. - From Zurich Airport by train (~ 2hours): Trains from Zurich airport to Freiburg run nearly every 30 minutes. Most train rides involve at least one change at Basel.
