Dr. Christian Fleck: 

What to do with the Elephant? A frequent problem in systems biology.

 

Dynamical models in systems biology are parametrized. However, very

often the parameters are only vaguely known. The method to use

quantitative experimental data to estimate the unknown parameters is in

many cases not a feasible alternative. A comprehensive analytical

analysis is also not possible but for the simplest models. But what are

possible strategies? I will present different approaches and discuss

their pros and cons.
